Virginia State Building and Construction Trades Council Endorse Aaron Rouse for Lieutenant Governor

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Today, the Virginia State Building and Construction Trades Council proudly announced its endorsement of Senator Aaron Rouse in his campaign for Lieutenant Governor.

“Aaron Rouse knows what it means to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with working people,” said Jason Parker, President of the Virginia State Building and Construction Trades Council. “As a lifetime member of the NFL Players Association, he understands the importance of collective bargaining, worker protections and standing together to demand fair pay and a voice in the workplace.”

Aaron Rouse, a Hampton Roads native, former NFL player and former Virginia Beach City Councilman, has consistently stood with labor in the Virginia Senate and throughout his public service career. His campaign for Lieutenant Governor emphasizes economic opportunity, workforce development and support for working families — values that align with the mission of Virginia’s building trades.

“We don’t just need leadership that supports labor in words, we need someone who’s lived it,” Parker said. “Aaron was raised by a single mother who taught him the value of hard work. He started working at 10 years old and supported his family by mowing lawns, pumping gas and pouring concrete to make ends meet. That lived experience, combined with a deep commitment to working families, drives everything he does. He’s a proven leader in the legislature, delivering real results for working Virginians. We’re proud to stand with him because we know he’ll stand with us.”

The Virginia State Building and Construction Trades Council represents tens of thousands of skilled craft professionals across the Commonwealth who build the infrastructure that powers Virginia’s economy. With this endorsement, the Council commits to mobilizing its members in support of Rouse’s campaign and vision for a more just and prosperous Virginia.
