Today, the first Board of Elections compliance reports were released from the candidates for Lieutenant Governor. Since the launch of his Lieutenant Governor campaign – 68 days ago – the Rouse for Virginia campaign reports the following:
- Rouse for Virginia campaign committee has raised more than $450,000 with more than $410,000 cash on hand.
- Excluding transfers from the Lieutenant Governor candidates’ other fundraising committees, Rouse for Virginia has raised the most of any candidate since entering the race—$367,000.
- Excluding committee transfers, Rouse for Virginia raised $110,000 more than Stoney and $278,000 more than Hashmi directly to his Lieutenant Governor committee. 67% of Stoney’s total raised was a transfer from his Governor committee and 54% of Hashmi’s from her Senate committee, compared to only 18% of Rouse’s from his Senate committee.
- Rouse received strong support from across the Commonwealth with almost 90% of his donations coming from Virginians.
- Senator Rouse has earned the endorsements of the most members of the General Assembly and the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus than any other candidate in the Lieutenant Governor’s race.
