Aaron Rouse demonstrates strength and deep breadth of support in first financial report after LG announcement

Today, the first Board of Elections compliance reports were released from the candidates for Lieutenant Governor. Since the launch of his Lieutenant Governor campaign – 68 days ago  – the Rouse for Virginia campaign reports the following: 

• Rouse for Virginia campaign committee has raised more than $450,000 with more than $410,000 cash on hand. 
• Excluding transfers from the Lieutenant Governor candidates’ other fundraising committees, Rouse for Virginia has raised the most of any candidate since entering the race—$367,000. 
• Excluding committee transfers, Rouse for Virginia raised $110,000 more than Stoney and $278,000 more than Hashmi directly to his Lieutenant Governor committee. 67% of Stoney’s total raised was a transfer from his Governor committee and  54% of Hashmi’s from her Senate committee, compared to only 18% of Rouse’s from his Senate committee. 
• Rouse received strong support from across the Commonwealth with almost 90% of his donations coming from Virginians. 
• Senator Rouse has earned the endorsements of the most members of the General Assembly and the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus than any other candidate in the Lieutenant Governor’s race.
